President Obama Signs Bipartisan Veterans Affairs Bill into Law

WASHINGTON, D.C.  – President Obama signed into law today bipartisan legislation that will address many of the immediate systemic problems within the Department of Veterans Affairs. The bill, the Veterans’ Access to Care through Choice, Accountability, and Transparency Act of 2014, takes steps to ensure veterans receive care in a timely fashion, and also strengthens accountability and transparency within the Department.

HUD and VA Announce Vouchers to Help Nearly 1,000 Homeless Vets Find Permanent Homes

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) today announced $7 million to 24 local public housing agencies across the country to help nearly 1,000 homeless veterans find permanent housing. The supportive housing assistance announced today is provided through the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program which combines rental assistance from HUD with case management and clinical services provided by VA.
